The <strong>EU Artificial Intelligence Act</strong> (Regulation 2024/1689) is the world's first comprehensive legal framework for artificial intelligence. It establishes harmonized rules for the development, deployment, and use of AI systems in the European Union.


Key Objectives

  • Scope of Application


    The AI Act applies to:

  • Providers placing AI systems on the EU market
  • Deployers using AI systems in the EU
  • Providers and deployers located outside the EU, if outputs are used in the EU

  • Risk-Based Approach


    The regulation categorizes AI systems into four risk levels:

  • 1. **Unacceptable Risk** - Prohibited practices
  • 2. **High Risk** - Subject to strict requirements
  • 3. **Limited Risk** - Transparency obligations
  • 4. **Minimal Risk** - No specific requirements
